The project you see below is a historical poster project that I was assigned in 2023. If there are two things I love in this world, its history, and Italian culture. This project gave me the opportunity to explore both. I wanted to convey a poster inspired from a 1950s Italian coffee bar. I chose, at random, a coffee bar called Bar Frattina to be the shop that I would make my poster about. This bar is not necessarily historical, but I liked the vibe that the bar conveyed, making it the perfect place to base my poster on.
The poster itself depicts an Italian man in 1950s clothing, sipping a cappuccino as he commutes to work on his Vespa. The text at the top of the poster states the name of the bar and the phrase, "c'e sempre tempo per un cappuccino" (there's always time for a cappuccino). The text at the bottom of the poster simply states information about the bar including daily hours, the address, and the phone number. I decided to sign my name at the bottom righthand corner of the poster. This creative choice was based on coffee posters from the 1950s, in which the artists often signed their names.
