Melanie Nealis was my first official freelance client. She is the president and chief legal officer of CLO Advisory Services, an independent consulting firm out of Tampa Bay, Florida. Mrs. Nealis specializes in in-house senior legal support and departmental leadership, consulting on risk, insurance and employment law topics. I was referred to her by my supervisor and co-workers, and I was honored to be able to design the logo for the firm.
The logo depicts a silhouette of Lady Justice posed frontally in front of a shield. The shield represents protection and strength. Lady Justice's hands are open and outstretched, offering a helping hand and open arms to those in search of legal consultation. In her hands are the scales of justice, evenly balanced, representing the unbiased nature of justice. She is also blindfolded, a classic depiction of Lady Justice that shows that she is "blind" to biases and corruption.
