There's nothing like Gnocchissimo! For this project in advanced graphic design, we were tasked with designing and branding a restaurant using both 2D and 3D design software. As funny as it sounds, the day before we were assigned this project, I had made gnocchi for dinner. I took my dinner idea and decided to use it for my restaurant brand, it was that simple. The restaurant is called Gnocchissimo. It is an Italian restaurant that features a playful atmosphere and an ambience that is subtly inspired by the Neapolitan Funk scene in the beautiful city of Naples, Italy.
The star of the brand is Nico the Gnocco, a little character that I created to represent the restaurant. Nico can be seen in the primary logo as well as in other collateral for the restaurant. After creating Nico, I based the typeface, color usage, and other related aspects around him. My goal was to create a cohesive vibe that was welcoming to families, friends, and individuals looking to feast on some delicious gnocchi anytime they wanted to.
